How to use Edit PDF metadata
Add your PDF
Drop a PDF onto the page. Its title, author, subject, keywords, apps and dates appear in a form, with facts like the PDF version and page count below.
Edit or remove the details
Change any field, or clear it to remove it. Click Remove all metadata to empty every field and tick every hidden extra found, such as attachments and comment authors.
Save and download
Click Save details and download your PDF. A short list shows exactly what changed, like “Author removed” or “2 embedded files removed”.

Frequently asked questions
What is PDF metadata?
Details stored inside the file about the document: its title, author, subject, keywords, the apps that made it, and when it was created and last changed. Readers show them under Document Properties.
Why does Acrobat still show the old author after I changed it elsewhere?
Many tools only change the document info, but Acrobat prefers the separate XMP metadata. This tool rewrites both so they match.
What does Remove all metadata do?
It empties every field and ticks every hidden extra found in the file. Nothing happens until you click Save details, so you can still change your mind.
Will removing scripts break my form?
Document scripts that run when the file opens are removed, but form calculation scripts are kept unless you tick that option too. Without them, totals may stop updating.
Can I use titles in Chinese or other languages?
Yes. Titles, authors and keywords can be in any language and show correctly in PDF readers.
