  3. Redact and download

Check the marks, click Redact PDF and save the cleaned file.

Why use Utils365

  • Really removed

Marked pages are rebuilt as pictures with the boxes burned in, so the hidden text can’t be copied, searched or recovered.

  • Find it fast

Search for a word, or find all email addresses, phone numbers and long numbers in one click, then check each mark.

  • Hidden details removed

Document properties, bookmarks, attachments, comments and form values go too, as they often hold the same private details.

  • Private by design

Everything happens in your browser. Your PDFs and passwords are never uploaded to a server or stored anywhere.

Frequently asked questions

Why not just draw a black box over the text?

A box drawn on top hides the text but leaves it in the file, where anyone can copy it out. Redaction removes it.

What happens to the pages I redact?

They become pictures of the page with the black boxes burned in. They look the same, but their text can no longer be selected or searched. Pages you don’t mark stay exactly as they were.

Can it find text in a scanned PDF?

No. A scan is a picture with no text to search, so draw boxes over what you want to remove instead.

Does the search find every match?

It finds the text the PDF holds, but text split across lines or written in unusual ways can be missed. Always look through the pages before you redact.

Can I undo a redaction?

Not in the redacted file, which is the point. Your original PDF isn’t changed, so keep it somewhere safe if you might need it.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser and nothing is sent to a server.
