How to use HSK flashcards
Choose a level and a direction
Pick HSK 1 to 6, or 7–9, and what to practise: character → pinyin, pinyin → character, or listen to a reading and find its character.
Answer each card
Choose from four answers, or flip the card and say whether you knew it. Each answer shows every reading with a recording, the meaning, HSK words using the character and a link to its stroke order.
Come back tomorrow
Cards you get right come back after a day, then 3, 7, 14 and 30 days. Cards you miss come back a few cards later and sooner on the days after, so you spend your time on the hard ones.
Why use Utils365
The official HSK 3.0 lists
All 3,000 characters of the 2021 HSK standard: 300 for each of levels 1 to 6 and 1,200 for levels 7–9, most common first.
Three ways to practise
Read a character and choose its pinyin, read the pinyin and choose the character, or hear the reading and pick the character, with wrong answers that test your tones.
Spaced repetition
Each card is scheduled from your answers, and cards you often miss are kept on a shorter rhythm until they stick.

Frequently asked questions
Which HSK lists does it use?
The character lists of the HSK 3.0 standard published by China’s Ministry of Education in 2021 (GF 0025-2021): 300 new characters at each of levels 1 to 6, and 1,200 more for levels 7–9, 3,000 in all. The new HSK exams follow this standard, though their 2025 syllabus moves some characters between levels.
Does it work for the old HSK 2.0?
Mostly. HSK 2.0 had word lists but no official character list, and most of its characters are in the first levels of HSK 3.0, so practising HSK 3.0 levels 1 to 4 covers most of what HSK 2.0 levels 1 to 6 ask for.
How does the spaced repetition work?
Each card moves up a step when you get it right and comes back after 1, 3, 7, 14 and then 30 days. A miss sends it back to the start: it returns a few cards later in the same session and is due again the next day. Cards you miss often come back sooner even after you start getting them right.
Which reading does a card ask for?
The one the HSK word list gives the character, such as le for 了. Characters with more than one reading accept any of them, and the answer shows them all.
Where is my progress saved?
In your browser on this device, so there’s no account to make. Clearing your browser’s data deletes it, so export a backup now and then; importing it adds it to the progress already there.
Can I see how to write a character?
Yes. Every answer and every character in the progress grid links to its stroke order, where you can watch it written, trace it and print a practice sheet.
Is it free?
Yes. There’s no sign-up, no limit and nothing to install.
