How to use GIF to APNG

  1. Add your GIF files

Drop one or more animated GIFs onto the page, or click to choose them.

  2. Frames are kept

Every frame and its timing is carried over, and the animation loops forever like the GIF.

  3. Convert and download

Click Convert, then save each image, or all of them at once as a ZIP.

Why use Utils365

  • Every frame kept

The animation plays exactly like the original, at the same speed.

  • Room to edit

APNG supports millions of colours and soft transparency, so edits aren’t limited to GIF’s 256 colours.

  • Private by design

Everything happens in your browser, so your images are never uploaded to a server.

Frequently asked questions

What is APNG?

Animated PNG: a PNG file that holds several frames. Every current browser plays it, and apps that don’t show the first frame.

Why does the file end in .png?

APNG files use the normal .png extension, so they work anywhere a PNG is accepted.

Is APNG smaller than GIF?

Not always. For many animations it’s similar or larger. If size matters most, convert the GIF to MP4.

Is there a limit?

Very long or large animations may be too much for your browser’s memory. Most GIFs convert in seconds.
